What to Expect:

Trails range from easy to strenuous in difficulty depending on where you start & how much you drive.

To get to the peak, take the Grindstone trail (3.0 miles one way) which leaves from the park office but can also be accessed by family camping. The first part is a Moderate uphill on a fairly wide path. At the fork, left will take you to the top of rock ledges and to the summit parking area (Ledge Spring Trail on left side- goes upwards). the right side will take you directly to the loop around the knob (Jomeokee Trail). This side will also take you to climbing access. Both sides of the Ledge Spring Trail include stairs of wood or rock. Rocks on trail will be slippery after rain & there may be some rivulets still flowing.

Summit parking area is accessible by car via paved road if you continue past the park office. There are bathrooms, water fountains, picnic areas & scenic overlooks. From the lot you can take the 0.8 mile Jomeokee trail around the pinnacle knob with views of Hanging Rock State Park.
